Kathy has been teaching  Michiana  to dance for over 35 years. She was awarded Top Teacher within a six state region by Arthur Murray Dance Studios at age 21. Since that time she has performed on stage and television and does a wide range of choreography for local performing troupes
Her keen eye for detail has not only allowed her the honor of adjudicating and preparing couples for competition, but also a published writer on dance topics. She not only brings her love of ballroom dancing to her students, but also introduces them to the many other styles of dancing that she has brought to the region such as West Coast Swing, Shag, Country 2-Step and NiteClub Two. Kathy not only teaches adults to dance but is widely known for her dance programs that reach the local universities and high schools. She is honored to provide a ballroom dance program for local Special Olympians.

A graduate of Indiana University in Indianapolis, Michiana Dance Dance Director, Mario Skonieczny and his partner Mary Jester compete professionally at a national level. A visiting instructor from Chicago, he travels weekly to provide our students with the best of instruction in the International and American Style of Ballroom dance. He is the Latin Coach for the University of Notre Dame DanceSport Team.

Introducing Julie Woodbridge

Michiana Dance is excited to introduce our newest instructor, Julie Woodbridge. Julie has taught for two years according to the DanceVision American Smooth & Rhythm syllabus. She has competed professionally with her partner Jeff Kroger and pro-am with several of her students, earning many first place awards. Her favorite dances include Tango, Bolero, and East Coast Swing and especially enjoys working with beginners looking to dance socially or compete at the Bronze level.
